Lexie’s Legacy Scholarship Officially Reaches Endowment Status!

June 18, 2009 - Augusta, Georgia

All of us at Lexie’s Legacy are proud to announce that, as of Thursday, June 18, 2009, 11:00 A.M., the Lexie’s Legacy Scholarship Fund at Augusta State University is now officially an endowment.

Lexie’s Legacy co-founder John “Stoney” Cannon turned over a check for $10,000 to Helen Hendee of the Augusta State Foundation in a meeting held at the ASU Maxwell Alumni House this past Thursday morning. (see attached picture) The majority of the funds were either through donations or raised at events held at downtown venues between April 2008 and February 2009.

The Lexie’s Legacy Scholarship Fund provides additional funding for young married women in college. This Fall the scholarship will be awarded to a second recipient, the first being ASU Nursing student Meshondra Collins.
